Pulse / Company / About
Our story

Built by operators,
for operators.

Pulse wasn't dreamed up in a software boardroom. It was built inside a working UK security and facilities-management company to run its own operation — real patrols, real clients, real compliance — and then opened up so other operators could run on it too.

1
operation Pulse ran before it was ever sold
41
systems and a spreadsheet, replaced with one login
100%
of checkpoints backed by a photograph, not a tag-tap
UK
built and hosted, end to end
The problem we lived

We ran it the hard way
first.

Before Pulse, the operation ran the way most do: patrols logged on paper, jobs passed around on WhatsApp, expiry dates buried in a spreadsheet nobody trusted, and a report cobbled together the night before a client review. It worked, mostly, until it didn't.

The worst moment was always the same. A client would ring at 7am — "was everything OK last night?" — and the honest answer was a shrug. There was no proof a patrol had happened, no photo to point to, no way to settle a dispute except taking someone's word for it. Good work went unseen, and the odd bad night was impossible to explain away because there was nothing to show.

How we used to run it
  • Patrols on paper and tag-taps that proved a phone was near a tag, nothing more
  • Jobs and incidents passed around on WhatsApp, forgotten by Friday
  • Licences and expiries scattered across a spreadsheet farm
  • 7am phone calls asking "was everything OK?" — with no proof to answer them
  • Disputes settled on trust, because there was no evidence either way
What we built instead
  • A watermarked photograph proves every checkpoint and every job
  • Patrols, incidents, compliance and reporting in one system, one login
  • One deadline runway for everything that expires, with a morning digest
  • A portal the client logs into to see it all for themselves
  • Every dispute answered by the evidence, not by whose word you take
Why we built Pulse

One system,
and something to point to.

So we built the thing we needed. Photo-proof at every checkpoint, so the work is visible. One system instead of four and a spreadsheet, so nothing falls between the cracks. And a portal the client logs into themselves, so the 7am phone call simply stops happening — they can already see the answer.

It ran our own contracts before it ran anyone else's. Every screen earned its place because an operations manager, an officer on a night shift, or a client actually asked for it. When other operators saw it and asked whether they could run on it too, Pulse became a product.

The principle we won't bend

Honest numbers,
or no numbers at all.

The product will never show a flattering 100% when nothing actually happened. If there were no patrols in a period, the portal says exactly that — "no patrols in this period yet" — rather than paint a green screen. It's a small thing that turns out to be everything: honesty about the empty states is the reason anyone believes the numbers that aren't empty. We'd rather lose a little polish than the trust.

No vanity metrics · an empty period reads as empty, never as perfect Delivered vs contract · the same figures the client sees in their portal Evidence-backed · every claim on the screen has a photo behind it
Who Pulse is for now

Built for one operation.
Now it runs plenty.

What we believe

Four things
we won't compromise on.

01

Proof over promises

A watermarked photograph beats a reassuring word every time. If it can't be shown, we don't count it as done.

02

Built in the field

Every feature was shaped on a live contract, not sketched in a boardroom. Officers, managers and clients decided what mattered.

03

Your brand, not ours

Pulse runs under your name, your colours, your domain. Your clients should see your firm — we're happy to sit quietly behind it.

04

UK-built and UK-hosted

Made in Britain for British operators, hosted in the UK, and built around the standards your contracts and audits actually ask for.

Why it exists
We built the thing we needed to run our own operation — then opened the doors so you can run on it too.
P The Pulse teamOperators, first and foremost

See it the way we built it.

We'll load Pulse with your sites, your people and your contracts, and walk you through the operation the way an operator would. No deck, no sales pitch.
