Best TrackTik Competitors 2026: UK Buyer's Guide

Last updated: 25 October 2026

The best TrackTik competitors for UK security firms in 2026 are Pulse Operations, Silvertrac, Guardhouse and SmartTask — each targeting different gaps in TrackTik's guard management platform. TrackTik holds a G2 star rating of 4.3 out of 5 based on 61 reviews (G2, 2026), but UK buyers increasingly want proof-of-service and Martyn's Law-ready compliance TrackTik wasn't built around.

Key Takeaways

• TrackTik holds a G2 star rating of 4.3 out of 5 based on 61 reviews, while Connecteam scores 4.6 out of 5 from 3,496 reviews on the same platform (G2, 2026).
• Silvertrac Software was acquired by Trackforce Valiant — TrackTik's own parent company — on 10 January 2020, meaning two "competing" brands now sit under one owner (CB Insights, 2020).
• The global security guard management software market was valued at USD 1.6 billion in 2024 and is projected to reach USD 4.5 billion by 2033, a compound annual growth rate of 11.8% (Grand View Research, 2026).
• Pulse Operations verifies checkpoints with a mandatory watermarked photograph — officer, site, GPS, time — rather than an NFC or QR tag scan, a mechanism live across its operations since February 2026.
• UK buyers evaluating TrackTik alternatives should weigh Martyn's Law readiness, SIA licence tracking and BS 7858 vetting alongside patrol scheduling, since these are now commercial differentiators, not just compliance checkboxes.

What is TrackTik and why are UK firms looking at alternatives?

TrackTik is a workforce management platform for contract security companies, owned by Trackforce Valiant, covering guard tour tracking, scheduling, incident reporting and client-facing dashboards. It was built primarily for the North American market, where security guard management software has its deepest roots — North America held 37.2% of the global market's revenue share in 2024 (Grand View Research, 2026).

UK security and facilities companies operate under different rules: the Security Industry Authority (SIA) licenses front-line officers under the Private Security Industry Act 2001, vetting typically follows BS 7858, and since the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025 — commonly called Martyn's Law — many venues now need documented risk assessments. Firms searching for TrackTik alternatives are often looking for platforms that treat UK compliance as native, not bolted on, and that prove patrols happened rather than just schedule them.

The core question buyers are actually asking

Most comparison searches for "TrackTik alternatives" aren't really about feature parity — scheduling, GPS tracking and incident logging are table stakes across the whole category now. The real question is evidential: when a client disputes a missed patrol, does the platform hand you a defensible record, or a scheduling log that proves nothing? That distinction is where the named competitors genuinely diverge.

How does Pulse Operations compare to TrackTik?

Pulse Operations is a UK-built operations platform that verifies every patrol checkpoint with a mandatory watermarked photograph rather than a tag scan, and pairs that with compliance tracking, facilities management and rostering in one system. Where TrackTik and most rivals rely on NFC or QR scans to confirm a guard visited a point, Pulse treats the photo itself as the checkpoint completion — no scan step exists in the workflow at all.

This matters because a tag scan, as Pulse's own guide on proving patrols actually happened sets out, only proves a phone was held near a tag at a moment in time — it doesn't prove a person was present, alert, or that anything was actually checked. Tags also fail physically: they get painted over, ripped off, or sit somewhere with no signal.

Pulse's audit log is hash-chained using SHA-256 — a cryptographic function that produces a fixed-length fingerprint for each record — and tamper-evident, with a built-in integrity check that walks the whole chain. Its officer app is native iOS and Android, offline-first with self-healing sync, so patrols in basements or plant rooms with no signal still record and sync once connectivity returns.

Where Pulse was built and proven

Pulse wasn't built in a product lab. It was built inside Priority First, the founding team's own London security and facilities operation, before being offered to other operators — a disclosure Pulse makes consistently rather than presenting the work as an arm's-length customer win.

On a landmark mixed-use development in West London, Priority First covers 152 checkpoints across retail units, residential blocks, plant rooms and service yards with 11 officers on one system. Before Pulse, there was no way to prove which plant room was actually checked at 3am. Every checkpoint was made photo-mandatory; a missed area now shows as a gap in the record rather than a dispute six weeks later. The site has been live since February 2026, and by July 2026 had logged more than 540 patrols in the first five months with all 152 checkpoints photographed.

Pulse's own benchmark data shows 96.2% of checkpoints across live operations carry a watermarked photo, measured over a trailing 90-day period as of July 2026 — see the current figures at /benchmark.

How does Silvertrac compare to TrackTik?

Silvertrac Software is a US-founded guard tour and incident reporting platform popular with mid-sized contract security firms, and it's worth knowing upfront that Silvertrac and TrackTik are commercially related. Trackforce Valiant — TrackTik's parent company — acquired Silvertrac on 10 January 2020 (CB Insights, 2020), so a buyer weighing "TrackTik vs Silvertrac" is often choosing between two products under one corporate roof rather than genuinely independent rivals.

Silvertrac is generally regarded as more approachable for smaller operators, with a simpler interface than TrackTik's fuller enterprise suite. Independent comparison sites such as Software Advice contrast the two on usability and feature depth. For UK firms, the practical question is the same one that applies across the category: does either platform's guard tour verification rely on QR or NFC tags, and does either offer a UK-specific compliance runway covering SIA licence expiries, DBS renewal and BS 7858 vetting stages in one view? Neither was built around UK regulation as its starting point. A fuller breakdown sits at /vs-silvertrac.

How does Guardhouse compare to TrackTik?

Guardhouse is a workforce management platform aimed at security and events staffing businesses, with scheduling, time and attendance, and compliance document tracking as its core strengths. It's a credible choice for operators whose main pain point is roster complexity — shift patterns, multi-site deployment, and getting the right licensed officer to the right site on time.

Where Guardhouse and TrackTik both concentrate most heavily on the scheduling and workforce side, neither puts photo-verified checkpoint evidence at the centre of the product in the way a proof-of-service-first platform does. For a shopping centre or construction site security contract where the client wants to open a portal and see exactly what happened on each round — not just who was rostered to be there — that's a meaningful gap. See /vs-guardhouse for a direct comparison.

How does SmartTask compare to TrackTik?

SmartTask is a UK-originated scheduling and workforce management tool used across security, cleaning and facilities sectors, and its home-market position is a genuine point in its favour against a North American product like TrackTik. It handles rostering, mobile time capture and job dispatch reasonably well for multi-site operators.

The trade-off is coverage. SmartTask's roots are in task and shift management rather than in the tamper-evident evidence trail, incident logging depth, or full facilities management stack — work orders, planned preventive maintenance (PPM), permits and contractor management — that estates teams and FM providers increasingly want alongside guarding. See /vs-smarttask for the detail.

Table reflects each vendor's published product focus as of 2026. Buyers should verify current feature sets directly with each vendor before deciding.

What does it cost to switch from TrackTik?

Migration cost and effort is usually the biggest hesitation when a security or FM company considers leaving TrackTik, and it's a fair concern — most guard management platforms require re-entering site data, officer records and checkpoint maps from scratch. The realistic answer depends on how many sites and officers are involved, and how much of that data the incoming vendor can import versus rebuild manually.

Pulse Operations includes guided setup, migration and a parallel run on one site with every plan, and most firms complete the switch fully within a fortnight. That timeline was demonstrated in practice when Priority First mobilised three buildings in a single July fortnight: checkpoints, site notes, prior issues and inductions were live in the platform before officers arrived on site, so new officers started with full site history on day one rather than lost knowledge sitting in someone's head.

In-house build vs buying a platform

Some larger security groups consider building an in-house tracking tool rather than buying TrackTik, Pulse or any named competitor. The trade-off is straightforward: an in-house build gives full control over features but carries ongoing engineering cost, no vendor support, and none of the compliance updates a specialist platform ships automatically as regulation changes — Martyn's Law obligations, for instance, are still bedding in across the sector. For all but the very largest operators, buying a platform built for the sector is the lower-risk route, and per-operative published pricing (see /pricing) makes the ongoing cost predictable from the outset.

Why is patrol proof becoming the deciding factor for UK buyers?

Patrol proof means verifiable evidence that a specific officer physically visited a specific location at a specific time, distinct from a schedule showing they were meant to. UK clients — shopping centre landlords, construction principal contractors, residential estate managing agents — are asking harder questions about evidence because contract disputes increasingly hinge on it, and a paper log or a bare tag scan no longer satisfies a scrutinous client.

Per Pulse Operations's guide on how to prove patrols actually happened, credible evidence needs to be watermarked with the officer, the site and checkpoint, GPS coordinates, a precise timestamp, and the state of the area — not just a scan record. The guide also notes that a portal reading 100% permanently is one nobody believes; honest gaps build more trust than suspiciously perfect numbers.

This played out directly on a 16-building central-London residential estate managed by Priority First, where sixteen buildings on one nightly round meant patrols could quietly go missing, and the estate had no way to see delivered-vs-contracted work without ringing the office. Each building was set up as its own site in Pulse with its own checkpoints and evidence trail, recurring-findings detection was switched on, and the client portal opened up direct visibility. Since going live in March 2026, the estate has logged more than 4,100 patrols — roughly 250 to 280 per building — with 100% of checkpoint completions photo-verified, up from a single vague "round complete" note per night before.

The wider market backs the direction of travel: the global security guard management software market is projected to grow from USD 1.348 billion in 2026 to USD 3.659 billion by 2035, a CAGR of 10.5% (Business Research Insights, 2026) — and software itself already holds the largest revenue share within that market, at 69.6% in 2024 (Grand View Research, 2026). Buyers are voting with budget for platforms, not point solutions.

Your TrackTik alternative evaluation checklist

• Confirm whether checkpoint verification uses a photo, an NFC/QR scan, or both, and ask what happens when a tag fails.
• Check the audit log is tamper-evident, and ask the vendor to explain the integrity mechanism in plain terms.
• Ask whether SIA licence expiries, BS 7858 vetting stages, DBS renewals and right-to-work checks sit on one compliance runway.
• Establish whether the platform covers Martyn's Law risk assessments, given the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025.
• Test the mobile app offline — walk into a plant room or basement with no signal and see if the checkpoint still records.
• Compare pricing models: per-operative published pricing versus quote-only enterprise sales cycles.
• Ask for a live client portal demo showing delivered-vs-contract, not just a features screenshot.
• Confirm hosting location and tenant isolation if you handle sensitive residential, retail or government-adjacent sites.

FAQ

What is the best alternative to TrackTik for UK security companies?

The best alternative depends on what's missing from TrackTik for your operation, but Pulse Operations is worth shortlisting if photo-verified patrol proof and UK-native compliance (SIA, BS 7858, Martyn's Law) matter more than North American-first feature depth. Silvertrac suits firms wanting a simpler interface, though it's worth noting Silvertrac and TrackTik share the same parent company, Trackforce Valiant, since a January 2020 acquisition.

How does TrackTik compare to Silvertrac?

TrackTik and Silvertrac are both owned by Trackforce Valiant, which acquired Silvertrac on 10 January 2020 (CB Insights, 2020). Silvertrac is generally seen as the more streamlined, easier-to-adopt product, while TrackTik offers a fuller enterprise feature set — but both rely on tag-based checkpoint verification rather than mandatory photo evidence.

What are the cheapest TrackTik alternatives for small security firms?

Pricing across this category is often quote-based and not publicly listed, which makes direct cost comparison difficult for smaller operators. Pulse Operations publishes its pricing openly per operative with unlimited sites and free admin and portal seats, which lets smaller firms budget accurately before ever speaking to a salesperson — see current tiers at /pricing.

Which TrackTik competitor offers the best guard tour tracking?

The strongest guard tour tracking depends on whether you value scan-based confirmation or photographic evidence of the checkpoint condition. Pulse Operations makes a watermarked photo the mandatory completion method for every checkpoint, with no NFC or QR scan step at all, which produces a stronger evidential record for disputed-patrol scenarios than tag-scan systems.

What is TrackTik's pricing compared to competitors?

TrackTik does not publish standard pricing, requiring buyers to go through a sales quote process, which is common across much of this category. This makes budget comparison harder for smaller and mid-sized firms, whereas platforms with published per-operative pricing let buyers model costs before a sales call.

Is TrackTik good for UK-based security or FM companies?

TrackTik can work for UK firms but was built primarily for the North American market, where security guard management software has its deepest commercial roots, holding 37.2% of global revenue share in 2024 (Grand View Research, 2026). UK-specific needs — SIA licence tracking, BS 7858 vetting stages, Martyn's Law risk assessments — are generally better served by platforms built around UK regulation from the outset.

How long does it take to switch from TrackTik to a new platform?

Switching timelines vary by vendor and by how many sites and officers are involved. Pulse Operations includes guided setup, data migration and a parallel run on one site with every plan, and most firms complete a full switch within a fortnight, consistent with a real three-building mobilisation completed in a single July fortnight.

Getting evidence-first patrol management with Pulse Operations

If you're comparing TrackTik alternatives because a client has disputed a patrol, or because a tender now asks how you prove delivery rather than just describe it, that's precisely the gap Pulse Operations was built to close. Every checkpoint on Pulse is completed by a mandatory watermarked photograph — officer, site, GPS, time — captured through an offline-first app that self-heals its sync the moment signal returns.

The platform runs the same evidence model across photo-verified patrols, mobile patrol and keyholding, and a full compliance runway covering SIA, BS 7858, DBS, right to work and Martyn's Law assessments in one expiries view — all proven first inside Priority First, the founding team's own London security and FM operation, before being opened to other operators.

Pricing is published openly at /pricing, per operative, with unlimited sites and free admin and portal seats on every tier. Book a look at the product tour or get in touch for a straight quote — no deck, no sales pitch, just the numbers your clients will actually see in their portal.
